SUMMER FLING PARTICIPANT UPDATE

We write to you with some unexpected news.

We are going to be moving forward this Summer Fling season with a change in the duo of Frisky Pedro/Villa for Rent to Frisky Pedro/Prom Queen.

After last week’s race, Villa experienced tenderness in his knee. Trainer Mooney Svendsen and owner Mark Benvenga, decided the best thing to do for you and for him would be to remove him from the program. We want everyone to know that Villa is ok, and will either be given the summer off or he may return in a few weeks. Because of the uncertainty, we have added Prom Queen to the program.

Prom Queen is a 6yo black mare who has earnings of almost 80,000! With a mark of 1:54.0, she is a tough mare on the track. “PQ,” reigns from the Quentin Schneider barn for owner Robin Clements. Robin is a long-time supporter of Summer Fling and is excited to offer a horse to the program once again!

What does this mean for you:

  • Nothing will change on your end.
  • Prom Queen will most typically race on Thursdays. Pedro will continue to most frequently race Tuesdays, and if you own a part of Dylan, he will most often race Sundays.

While this was not in our original plans for the summer, we appreciate your understanding as we put our equine athletes first and foremost!
