SUMMER FLING
The Summer Fling Race League is a fractional ownership stable managed by Minnesota Harness Racing, Inc. during the Running Aces meet from May – September.
Participants can purchase a share of a horse (or horses) at the beginning of the meet and enjoy owning a racehorse for the summer without having to pay any bills. Shares range from $130 to $200. Participants will earn up to 1% of the horse’s regular purse earnings.
If you’ve ever wanted to own a racehorse, here’s your opportunity to get your feet wet without a lot of risk. Several of our owners at Running Aces, got their start as participants in Summer Fling.
Meet the 2024 Summer Fling Horses
Opportunity #1:
We’re back on Bobs Time! Bobs Time returns for his 2nd Summer Fling adventure, this time with new owners and a new trainer Bob is now owned by Heather Wright and Shannon Machovec and is now trained by James Kennedy.
He is a 7yr old gelding that tries his best in every start. He loves apples/carrots/cookies and any and all things edible (for horses). And he can be quite demanding about it!
He is a big boy and very curious about most everything. He loves his naps and playing with his buddy in his free time. 16 wins in 165 Starts. Lifetime Earnings of $ 76,674.
Our second horse, Muffin Top is a 6-year-old Minnesota Bred mare by Vlos. She was bred by Wendy Haberberg and foaled in Wisconsin. She hails from the Kathie Plested barn and is owned by Kathie and Eileen Brodbar.
Her barn name is Bunny. Although they call her Bunny, she prefers apples to carrots. Wendy still brings Muffin Top, er Bunny, apples from the farm she grew up on. Muffin Top has Lifetime Earnings of $89,397. 9 wins in 91 starts.
A .5 percent share of each horse (total 1%) is being sold for $130. Shares cannot be split.
Opportunity #2:
Louis is a very sweet 6 yo horse. He has an old soul but acts like a giant puppy dog, except right before he races, when he’s a little nervous and sassy!
He loves being turned out and the first thing he does is roll, grunting the whole time! He loves carrots and bananas and is the messiest eater in the barn.
Louis is owned by Dave Dobbelmann and trained by Daryl Cutting and taken care of by his loyal groom, Kendra Pratt.
Louis has earned $98,313 in 96 starts. With 12 wins. He finished his Cal Expo season with a win!
A one percent share of Louis is being sold for $200.
