The participant spots for Summer Fling 2022 have all been filled. Tonight, the season kicks off for “Flingers” with Bobs Time, who is the #4 horse as part of a field of a half dozen going in a non-winners condition Pace with a Optional Claimer in tonight’s Fourth Race.
Whew…that’s a great deal to write about the race! So, for those new to this, the Optional Claimer means that some of the horses’ connections are permitting others to “claim” or purchase their horse after the conclusion of the event. The claim must be made prior to the race by dropping their claim into a box prior to that race’s scheduled post time. This time permits the racing officials to know if a claim has been made. Any money earned by the horse goes to the connections of the claimee. Meanwhile, the claimer gets the horse.
Often times, in a race such as this, the claiming option is used option in order to face other horses in which they are competitive. Don’t worry Summer Flingers, the only horse taking this option in the 4th Race Tuesday is #2 Watchmeneighneigh, so you are safe.
Meanwhile, Wizzel Stix, the other horse in Summer Fling 2022, is set to race Thursday night.
