2023 ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY – PARTICIPATION REQUESTED
The American Horse Council is requesting that all harness racing participants and Standardbred owners complete the AHC’s National Impact Study Survey, which will do a special breakout of Standardbreds and harness racing.
The study, which is being conducted from April 5 through Sept. 29, 2023, is the most comprehensive and widely used study of the industry’s contributions to Gross Domestic Product including employment, volunteers, equid population, acreage, etc. broken by sectors (Recreation, Racing, Competitions, and Working Horses).
The AHC Economic Impact Study survey can be found here.
www.surveymonkey.com/r/AHC_Owner_Survey
The results will provide important information about the significant economic impact of harness racing and Standardbreds that can be used to provide legislators at the local, state and federal levels to pass laws favorable to our industry.
It is a critical tool to create an awareness of and an interest in the equine industry; provide positive relationships, including media relations; identifying the industry as a player in the local, state and national economy and allowing the industry to advertise itself by first identifying its contributions.
To encourage participation, the AHC has partnered with several sponsors to offer 15 incentive prizes, including a first prize of a John Deere Z545R ZTrak Mower valued at $7500.
